i feel like a FOOL! coz i managed to revive my old blog. SICkENING ass. I still prefer this add, i guess i have grew accustomed to pening down my thoughts in this old web journal of mine, old-fashioned i am, arent i ?
Life has been the
usual . Work 5 days a week, 8 hours each day.
What did i do on labour day? i cant remember. wait....waiting...waiting...waited
yayaya.. ZOO trip.
baby and i cabbed down to the ZOO, spent 4 hours immersing ourselves in mother nature and beautiful creatures. I felt like a tourist, looking at the map, finding where we were and where to head for. I missed the PENGUINS!. apparently, the penguins enclosure were under construction, so dear MR Holmes, where did the penguins go? =X It was fun trekking up the slopes and terrains to discover how pathetic singapore zoo is. Gosh. Only one camel?! 3 zebras?! 2/1 polar bear?! varieties, maybe ya, but in very minute number. plus, the camel was half-dead . baby made a curt remark, ' GOSH! the camel is dead!' Public eyes darted to and fro, wondering if it was real. couldn't help it but snickered away. The camel was lying flat on the ground..with its head tilted,
motionless. Nevertheless, it was a memorable trip, being able to get away from pollution and noises of modern society.
After which, we cabbed to a well-hidden chicago pub at secluded area of Tanglin, with strong recommendation from baby's NS mate. Its is the only one in Singapore, with 3 branches in HK, 1 in Taipei. old sepia photos, newspaper cuttings and awards well adorned the walls of the tiny yet cozy place. Food there doesnt come cheap since expatriates were mainly the ones financing the on-going run of the business. We were the few Chinese in the pub, rest were with their expats. friends or expatriates who just flown in from their home-town. It is a place that exudes friendliness, whereby pub managers chats with their customers about their trip home or about politics in their hometown. I ordered a half slab BBQ baby back ribs and baby ordered BBQ roast chicken. both served with crisply old fried original fries and a small serving of mayonnaise dripped pasta salad. Surprisingly, also welcome with a basket of baguette, muffin and corn pastries, all in XL sizes. Oh ya, the interesting thing is, there's a toy train moving about on this rails that manoeuvres round the huge bar table. Very witty way of lightening the atmosphere. we left the place,well-fed, wallets well-lightened, and sauntered our way down Borders.
I left the city with a lady's style levis jeans, compliments from the boy, and a tired smile on our faces. Reached home at around late evening, bathed and while baby slept, i cooked dinenr before he booked in. Somehow, time zooms when you spend the entire day with a person you love.
A Long long long entry after SOOOO long.
p.s: who's confirm going to ntu? coz i know none. baby is enrolling in next yr though. arghs .
