the economy is getting worst," nation was in its worst ever recession and fanning expectations that the central bank will let its currency weaken" as quoted from Reuters. Its very daunting, imaging retrenchment at a rise all because of human greed that led to today's situation. Undeniably, i'm getting worried about my parents' jobs as well. My dad is working at a Japanese firm, and japan is not at a good shape at all. My mum is in the service industry, which when during recession hits the greatest, especially in Asian country. There's nothing much anybody can do in this situation that can help cushion the impact. As for me, it means prudent spending, i dont want to be in situation whereby i start regretting of spending too much and not saving enough.. i'm glad my parents trained my bro an i to be mindful of our accounts. From primary school, i would save my coins in a piggy bank my dad gives me, even till now, i keep such habits. As we grow older, we become more responsible in money matters. My dad will transfer allowance to our accounts, and we are left to decide how much to spend/ save. We dont ask for extra money except for school books. Its not longer in the past whereby i ask my dad for shopping money. Now, i shop with my savings. I feel so ashamed to ask my dad for extra money, i feel guilty. Its good training =)

Brings to me the case about civil servant spending a bomb on his holiday despite the economic downturn. Personally, its not wrong, his spending is from his savings and its his personal wish to spend it whatever ways he likes.

But, it struck me as how much civil servants are paid, is the pay even worth it? sometimes are feel as though the lack of transparency over such issues deemed as sensitive. But why is it so sensitive? when their pay is from the taxpayers. We as taxpayers have a right to know .
And 10-20% pay cut for civil servants..hey man, it sounds damn a lot but considering the fact they earn very high..its really substantial to how many people getting retrenched for this crisis. or maybe because of many being retrenched, means lesser taxes collected and which translate to lesser pay for the civil servants.

to reduce my personal liability : my above post has no particular intention of hurting anybody. it is a personal opinion.
