i;m so tiredd!! just finished spring cleaning 2..u must be wondering why is there so many spring cleanings ya. its my dad's tradition of welcoming cny. my dad's still very chinese, he takes cny very seriously, such that it can get quite scary at times. spring cleaning 1 is the initial round of cleaning of windows, polishing of furnishes, thorough wiping of floors, clearing of closests, tables etc etc. its also when the karang guni man earns the most from us.
spring cleaning 2, which is today, is the day before cny eve. on eve, my aunts and uncles (the singles) will come over to my place for reunion dinner. So, it means cleaning of floors (vacumming, steaming and mopping).
spring cleaning 3, the night of cny eve, is the last cleaning before cny. which is TOMORROW.

but its okie haha. the entire family chips in, its very heart warming to see everyone getting into action. My brother will scrub the toilet, i will vacumm and mop upstairs, my dad the living and dinning area while my mum does the kitchen and the guest room. phewww.
its a pity baby cant join us for reunion dinner, but i am glad too. its time he spends some quality time with his family! i am guilty of stealing him away from his mum =X I discourage him to attend my cny 1 day gathering at my place too, my paternal side is not very nice. =X they might be highly educated but not well liked.
i like my mum's side! lunch over at my dua yi's place on first day of cny =) home-cooked food teochew style of steam promfet, duck soup, fried naohiang, stir fried spinch with pacific clams and sometimes curry chicken haha. its very kampong style, very close !
and i havent thought of what to wear on the first day, i guess it doesnt matter anymore =) kinda grow out of wearing new clothes during cny haha.
i'm gonna put on my exfoliating mask before going out. pictures from the pineapple tart making will be up in 1 min
