recently, my dad sent me an email regarding dolphins slaughtering in (cant remember which country), the pictures were very sad..its just pools of blood and slaughtered dolphins. it made me very angry. in fact, cruelty to animals makes me very angry. how can an educated modern society be so uncivilized and selfish. i was having this feeling that such people will suffer in future for their misdeeds, that is taking away an innocent life.
just yester, i read a heartwarming article in straits times regarding the successful adoption of a 3 legged dog. yes, 3 legged, this dog was found in a cage and had to be amputated, if im not wrong, its leg got clamped in the wire cage. its really warm to hear that singaporeeans are adopting such animals, to give them a better life. which other animals deserve such kind hearted treatment?
which brings me to cross-breeding article publish on ST sometime last week. i think it was saturday or sunday's papers. I dont approve such commercial reasons for crossbreeding. cross-breeding is basically a "try an error" procedure, as stated in the article, one pet shop owner said " we try an error, if the new dog is not pleasing, it will be put on the shelf until somebody wants to buy it " WTF!! SERIOUSLY. and what if nobody wants to buy it, how? only one way - put her/him down.
if u cross-breed and its already tried and tested: FINE. i have no comments as long as the dog lives. Otherwise, maybe you can put urself in their shoes. i hope these people's unethical way of making money will suffer one day.somehow.
as for me , i dont have the means yet to own another dog after Sporty's death, because of parents disapproval.
i vowed to myself, when i start working and having my own apartment, i will adopt a dog. not a fanciful pretty looking dog but rather a dog with a sad history because i want to make him/her happy for the rest of their live. some may disapprove of my opinion, but if im given a choice: baby or animal. i will definitely chose animal because to me, they are the most innocent and pure creation of God's wonders.They deserve all the love and care in the universe.
